Disease Prevention

Rotary’s efforts include initiatives to improve health and well-being, combat diseases such as polio, malaria, HIV/AIDS, and other diseases, and support access to healthcare services, particularly in underserved communities.

Our very own member and PDG launched a massive campaign to fight cancer in Uganda by launching the Cancer Run in 2012. The run is aimed at constructing a Centre for excellence and when it is done, Rotary International is furnish it with all the equipment we need. We are still going strong and we will be holding the run for this year on 27th August 2024. In addition, RC Mukono holds Medical health camps every year to offer solutions to the immediate solutions of our community. With our members who are medical workers, we collaborate with health centers around us to offer services like general medical check-ups and minor surgeries, treatment of common illnesses including malaria, cough, and flu, screening, and treatment of non-communicable diseases, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, optical Services, and health education.

We encourage other partners to join us as we serve communities around the world by providing medicine, medical supplies, and human resources in terms of medical expertise and or otherwise.
