Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

Clean water and sanitation are a human right and are very important to everyone, children and adults. A lot of people in our communities in Uganda still lack this basic need and when this happens, it leads to the spread of diseases like Cholera, Malaria which are a leading cause of death.

When we provide sustainable access to clean water and Sanitation facilities, we promote good hygiene practices which in the long run reduces the spread of waterborne diseases and this improves health in our communities.

7 clubs came together to serve one community each focusing on one of the 7 areas of focus. The 7×7 project was officiated by DG Mike Sebalu and it involves RC Mukono, RC Seeta, RC Bweyogerere Namboole, RC Bweyogerere Cental, RC Lugazi Central, RC Namugongo, RC Kireka. The community chosen as beneficiaries for this project was Kiwale village in Nkokonjeru, Buikwe District

RC Mukono chose the WASH project and installed a water tank at Kiwala Primary School and is still in the process of connecting Kiwale Village to the national water grid
